YMCA Endurance Series

Registration will open December 1st!

NEW THIS YEAR!!  Sign up for all 3 of our Endurance Series Events (Tri for the Y & Duathlon; Peaks to Portland Swim; and the Mainiac Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon) and become a 2014 YMCA Endurance Athlete!  Are you up for the challenge?

This event is intended to encourage participation by people with a variety of fitness levels and competitive experiences.

Who Benefits from these Events?

The YMCA is committed to offering programs and services to the community that promote healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, regardless of ability to pay.  To that end, we turn no one away because of an inability to pay.

The money raised at these events will go toward our financial assistance program.  In total, the YMCA provided more than $809,547 in financial assistance to members of our community last year.  1 in 3 members of the Y received some level of assistance in the past year.  The proceeds from these events will ensure that we continue to make our programs and services accessible to all.  Fundraising for these events goes towards our mission of nurturing the potential of every child and teen.  Fundraising for the Tri for the Y will support our Summer Day Camp programs.  The YMCA Peaks to Portland Swim will support our youth aquatics programs such as swim lessons and swim team.  The Mainiac Tri & Duathlon will support our childcare programs.  If you fundraise for the Endurance Series you are supporting all three of those areas here at the Y and enabling children to live up to their potential.

In addition to supporting a healthy community, your participation in these events will provide you with an enjoyable day of family fun!  We look forward to seeing you on race day!  If you have any questions, or need any further information than is provided on this website, please do not hesitate to contact us at triforthey@ymcaofsouthernmaine.org, ymcap2p@ymcaofsouthernmaine.org, or mainiactri@ymcaofsouthernmaine.org.

**USAT Membership is required for the Tri & Mainiac**
  • Registration is NON-TRANSFERABLE.
    • This means that by registering for the Endurance Series, the athlete is committing to all 3 events.  They cannot do the Tri for the Y & Mainiac Tri, and let a friend take their spot for Peaks to Portland.
  • When are the dates of the events?
    • Tri for the Y & Duathlon – Sunday, May 18th at 9:00am

  • Are these fundraising events and how does that work for the Endurance Series?
    • Yes, all of these events are fundraising events to support the Y’s mission to stay true to our promise to turn no one away because of an inability to pay.  Fundraising is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged.  There will be great fundraising prizes for the following levels: $100, $250, $500, $1,000, and $1,500.
