School Age Child Care

Join the YMCA School Age Child Care programs and your kids will experience a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere every day.

In our School Age Child Care programs, kids build self-esteem, values, and positive relationships with their peers and the YMCA staff. You'll know your children are growing and exploring their potential while having fun!

Our Goals

  • Ensure kids are interacting with peers and positive role models.
  • Foster the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Offer fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage self-esteem and growth in areas such as health & wellness, homework assistance, arts, sports & recreation, choice time, and more!
  • Provide an environment where children are active learners, make choices, have responsibility for their actions, and understand limits.
  • Build a trusting relationship between parents, children, and staff where there is mutual respect and frequent communication.

STEM

We believe that providing fun, enriching activities centered around Science, Technology, Engineering and Math help build upon the foundations learned in school; as well as increases academic interest and success.

Community Service

We work on various learning service projects throughout the year to foster social responsibility at a young age.

healthy eating & physical activity

We have pledged to build a healthier future for the youth in communities we serve. Youth are served fruits or vegetables at snack time and are exposed to a minimum of 30 minutes of structured physical play daily.

Swimming

Swimming is included weekly at after school programs located at our YMCA branches. Swimming is a valuable lifelong skill that teaches kids to be safe in and around the water.

youth sports & activities

We love to keep our kids moving! Kids will learn sports skills, as well as important cooperation, teamwork and leadership skills through our daily movement activities.
