Childcare

With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the support they can get. That’s why child care at the Y is about more than looking after kids. It’s about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Childcare

The YMCA builds strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.

We work to ensure that kids participating in our programs are interacting with peers and positive role models and are having fun while building their self-esteem and social skills through a variety of organized enrichment activities and free play.

Our basic goals are:

  • To provide a safe, caring, nurturing environment for children;
  • To provide an environment where children are active learners, make choices, have responsibility for their actions and understand limits.
  • To build a trusting relationship between parents, children, and staff where there is mutual respect and frequent communication.
  • To provide an environment that fosters trust and honesty.

By choosing to send your children to programs at the YMCA, you are recognizing the importance of instilling the Y’s core character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in your children.

Kids Night Out
Parents, would you like to have a night off? Drop your children off at the Y and be sure that they are safe and having a great time! Kids will have dinner with their new friends and the evening will hold lots
of exciting activities such as games, arts & crafts, and free play. Be sure to send PJs, so your child will be ready for bed upon pickup. A minimum number of registrations may be required in order to hold this
program. Children must be potty trained in order to attend Kids Night Out. Be sure to send a bathing suit and towel in case we are able to swim!
