LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free 12 week, research-based physical activity and well-being program, designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. This small group program meets twice a week for 75 minutes each class. The program provides a safe and supportive environment for cancer survivors to regain their physical, emotional, and spiritual strength. This program will be offered free to any community member and, in support of the whole family, includes a complimentary family membership for the 12 weeks the program is in session.
Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body.
