Smart Start is a FREE four-week program designed to help you make the most of your Y membership.

You’ll meet one-on-one with a Wellness Specialist to talk about your wellness goals and how the Y can help you meet them.

Based on your goals and interests, you and your coach will develop a personalized wellness plan.

Together, you’ll get started on that plan by trying out options that interest you. 

Members tell us they love the confidence Smart Start gives them. And, it’s suitable for all experience levels and interests because it offers customized, one-on-one coaching.

Here's how it works

Step 1: Beginning your wellness journey

To help you achieve your wellness goals and get the most out of your Y investment, it’s important for us to spend some time getting to know you.

The goal of this session is:
  • Get to know your dedicated fitness specialist who is here to serve you!
  • Understand your goals and expectations so together we can develop an action plan to ensure your success.
  • Teach you some basic tips so you can hit the ground running.
  • Start exercising and having some fun!
Step 2: Checking your progress

You’ve begun exercising and you’re starting to get comfortable. After spending some time on your own, it’s natural to have some questions.

The goal of this session is:
  • Review your progress towards your fitness goals.
  • Answer any questions you may have about exercises, equipment, programs, or our facilities.
  • Learn some innovative fitness activities or exercises to help you progress even faster.
Steps 3 & 4: Kicking it up a notch

You’ve gained important fitness knowledge and begun to implement a solid wellness strategy. These critical last two meetings will help you recognize and overcome the most common obstacles to healthy living.

The goal of these sessions are:
  • Understand why 85% of people who begin a new exercise program don’t continue and how to avoid those same pitfalls.
  • Learn about basic healthy choices to maximize your energy levels and long-term health.
  • Establish longer-term goals to achieve in the next 3-6 months.
