School Age Child Care

Quality, affordable before and after-school child care right in your community. At the Y, kids have fun while building confidence, self-esteem, and positive relationships. 

AGES

Kindergarten - 5th grade

Program Fees

School Age Child Care is available Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm. Full-day care is available during school-at-home days (for children attending schools with a hybrid schedule).

$250 / week in Freeport, Portland, New Gloucester 

$200 / week in Biddeford

Fees based on full school-year enrollment and current local school plans (including half days and school-at-home days). Subject to change.

A la carte and drop-in days not currently available.

Fees in effect September 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021. We accept DHHS  vouchers, ASPIRE, and Transitional Assistance Funds. Y Financial Assistance is also available. Contact your local branch for more information, stop by the branch to pick up an application, or download the form along with our other registration forms here.

All staff are First Aid and CPR certified, with prior experience working with children. Staff also participate in ongoing training, ensuring that your children are always safe and well cared for. 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

We are committed to serving all, regardless of ability to pay. Our Annual Campaign raises funds for families in need of financial assistance. This past year, over 800 youth in our Child Care programs received some level of financial assistance.  If you think you may qualify, please apply!  

We also accept DHHS vouchers, ASPIRE, and Transitional Assistance Funds.  Please contact us if you qualify for this funding.

LEarn & Grow

We offer fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage self-esteem and growth. 

STEM - Fun, enriching activities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math help build upon the foundations learned in school and increase academic interest and success.

Community Service - Children undertake several learning service projects throughout the year, learning social responsibility at a young age.

Healthy Habits - We are committed to building a healthier future. Children in our programs are served fruits or vegetables at snack time, and are exposed to at least 30 minutes of structured physical play each day.

Youth Sports & Activities - Kids learn cooperation, teamwork, leadership, and sports skills through our daily movement activities.
