The Perfect Next Step for Your Young Swimmer

Is your child ready to take their swimming to the next level?

We understand that confident swimmers need new challenges to stay engaged and continue growing. The Y’s Swim Club program bridges the gap between swim lessons and competitive swimming, giving your child the excitement of team practices while building stamina and competitive techniques in a safe, supportive environment.

WHAT IS SWIM CLUB?

Swim Club is designed for swimmers who have mastered basic stroke skills and are ready for a team experience. Your child will practice with other swimmers in a structured environment that simulates being on a swim team. Through group practices, your swimmer will build endurance, refine technique, and develop the confidence that comes from being part of a supportive team.

IS SWIM CLUB RIGHT FOR YOUR CHILD?
Your swimmer is ready if they:
  • Are between ages 5-12

  • Have passed a GREEN band swim test at the Y*

  • Can swim independently and want a team experience

  • Are looking for the next challenge in their swimming journey

* To pass the Green Band test, your child must: Swim 25 yards on front starting in the shallow end; climb out of the pool without using the ladder; jump into the pool and tread water for one minute; and back float for 10 seconds.

WHAT YOUR SWIMMER WILL EXPERIENCE

A Mixed-Level Team Environment
Swim Club brings together swimmers of varying abilities in one supportive group. Your child will practice alongside others who share their enthusiasm for swimming.

Progressive Skill Development
Practices are designed to challenge each swimmer at their current level while introducing new techniques. Your child will work on stroke refinement, build endurance through lap swimming, and learn competitive skills like flip turns and racing starts as they're ready.

Team Focus with Individual Growth
While swimmers practice together as a team, our instructors help your child progress at their own pace. The emphasis is on personal improvement, teamwork, and building confidence in the water.
